11-24-13 4th out of 12 at HDC in Kirbyville, TX for 3 pts.  Yahooo...so happy he is getting his confidence back..

Eric was bitten in the eye ball by a copperhead snake and the eye was not repairable.  His eye had to be removed and he is working on adjusting to his surroundings with one eye.  We tried him in the conformation ring with only one eye and he did good the first day, no winning but he seemed alright.  The next three days he became more and more fearful.  I decided that he was not ready for the ring.  It had only been a few months since the loss of his eye and the newness of the show ring was to much. I then took him to work in the field tracking rabbits.  His nose works great and he is slowly gaining confidence and leaving my side to work the scent lines.  I have high hopes that with the gained confidence of working in the field he will be able to get his Field CH Title.
