Hi Gloria, I hope you are doing well. I just wanted to write a quick line to tell you what the boys have been up too! We have enrolled into a positive motivation training class and they are doing outstanding!! The trainer, Pam, is SO impressed with them (actually, she prompted this e-mail...I always feel bad bothering you. But, she said you would love to hear about them!) The boys are both SO smart...they just handle themselves differently. Oscar gets so excited and Meyer is so focused (Pam says he is the thinker!) They both have "sit", Oscar has "down" - Meyer almost does, and Meyer has loose leash walking - Oscar almost does. They are such great boys...and a pure joy to have! Pam was talking about using them for her training school video...I'll keep you posted! Right now, we are working toward Canine Good Citizen...then who knows!! :) Thanks again for producing these awesome boys...they bring us so many smiles! Melissa
The letter below is from Kathleen and Jeremy Anderson. They have two red smooth neutered males named Sherlock and Mycroft. email address is kathleen.anderson@hayneswhaley.com
Gloria, Yes, please use Jeremy and I as references. We love our babies (Sherlock and Mycroft) so much, and are so thankful we found you. They are really good with the baby. Mycroft gets so upset when William cries he actually will start to howl, and then go and lick his face to make him feel better - it is so sweet. They seemed to have adjusted really well to William. We haven't had any problems - not even peeing or pooping in the house!!!! Please give this address to anyone who would like references. Kathleen
The letter below is from Laura Reeves. She has a black/tan piebald female named Belle. Her email address is lreeves@exchange.ml.com
Belle is very smart. She is able to complete the commands, SIT, STAY,COME, HEEL, & and even DOWN which is the hardest for dogs to complete (due to submission issues). She walks very well on the lease and I'm having the best time training her. I bought a book titled:"How to Get Your Dog to Do What You Want" by Warren Eckstein. It stresses positive reinforcement and correction rather than saying "NO" all the time. We are also working on training to brush her teeth and clip her nails. I have been able to brush three teeth hopefully soon I can get her whole mouth. June 22 is the Mermaid Parade at Coney Island in Brooklyn. I used to live in Brooklyn part of last year and the year before that so I have gone to the Parade the last two years. It is great fun. At the end of the Parade they crown a Mermaid Queen & King Neptune. I'm in the process of making a Merdog costume for Belle. I'm making it out of light weight foam and fabric paint. I'll send you some pictures of it and of Belle at the Parade. Feel free to put them on the website if you want. Well I have to go. Thanks for the email and I'm sure Belle would want to say hello.
P.S. Belle is a very friendly dachshund (not aloof like some dachshunds
tend to be). She has made many friends here in NY. I love her very much!!!! Laura Reeves
